DDA JSA English Typing Test

Candidates opting for English medium should have minimum typing speed of 35 w.p.m which corresponds to 10500 key depressions per hour.
Displayed text on desktop computer is to be typed in English only as opted by the candidate in the online application form.
In Real Exam After candidate logs into the system, Mock typing test has to start and to be completed in 2 minutes wherein Candidate will check keyboard and keys operation. There will be break time of 10 minutes after the mock test. If any candidate system keys are not working during this break time, they have to immediately report to the invigilator and get it resolved. The Actual Typing Test will begin after the break time as per the information given below.
The VH candidates will have to bring their own Passage Dictators for the Typing test who have opted for scribe in the online Application Form. The Passage Dictator will read out the passage to VH candidate within the allotted time period.

The typing examination will be held in online mode. The passage to be typed will appear on the screen above the typing box, with a timer displayed on the right-hand side.
Each word being typed will be highlighted, where errors will be marked in red and correct entries will appear in green. The passage will scroll automatically as the candidate types.
During the test, candidates may use the Backspace key to rectify mistakes. They are also permitted to move between characters or words using the left and right arrow keys for editing or corrections.
The total number of words typed will be determined by dividing the total gross keystrokes by five, and errors will be evaluated on a word-by-word basis.
Error Calculation Based on Words:
Errors in the English typing test will be assessed on a word-wise basis, and no mistakes will be exempted from evaluation.
Every incorrectly typed word will attract a penalty factor of ten, which means that for each wrong word, the candidate will incur a deduction equivalent to ten times the total number of incorrect words.

- Net Speed = ((Typed Gross Keystrokes / 5) - (Number of Incorrect Words * 10)) / Time Duration in Minutes
Aspirants are encouraged to prepare seriously for the DDA ASO & JSA English and Hindi typing examinations by developing the required typing speed of 35 words per minute in English and 30 words per minute in Hindi, along with strong accuracy. It is important to note that every incorrectly typed word carries a penalty equal to ten times the total errors, which may lead to a reduction of around one word per minute in the final typing speed. Hence, candidates should concentrate not only on achieving the prescribed speed but also on minimizing mistakes to ensure a successful outcome.
